In 2015, we were asked to help find a suitable location for the development of a large-scale industrial production facility for aluminum beverage packaging. Working closely with the economic departments of the relevant authorities, a strategically located plot of land was selected and purchased in Helmond.
From ambition to realization in record time
Within an exceptionally short period of just13 months, we—at the time from Archicom—took care of the entire process. This included:
- the elaboration of the Program of Requirements;
- the design of an optimally organized business operation;
- the coordination and acquisition of all necessary permits and utilities;
- the selection and contracting of contractors;
- technical engineering, preparation, and construction realization;
- integration and installation of production lines;
- completion and commissioning of the factory.
This turnaround time is considered an absolute record in the market for the development and realization of a production facility of this size and complexity. The success was due to anintegrated approach, the parallel organization of processes, and intensive cooperation with the client's investment team, government agencies, and utility companies.
Most sustainable production facility in Europe
The completed factory is one of the most sustainable and modern production sites for aluminum beverage packaging in Europe. With two production lines, process support service areas, technical areas, a warehouse, and office functions, the factory has a production capacity of approximately2 billion cans per year.
Upon completion, the client indicated that this was not only an exceptional achievement, but also the establishment of a " new standard in professional approach and quality."

Further growth and long-term cooperation
In 2017, Sprangers was once again asked to organize the expansion of the factory with a third production line. In addition to delegated project management, we also took care of the design and implementation. This expansion was successfully completed in 2020, doubling production capacity to approximately4 billion cans per year.
Since then, CONRATO has been the client's permanent real estate advisor, providing support on various issues, including renovations and the purchase of strategic plots of land for future expansion.
